At the end of the day ... it's about fashion
Last night I was on my way into a crowded restaurant when I missed the lip of the curb and went flying face first into the dirt and cement. My glasses went flying, along with my cell phone and keys. A group of nice "young" people helped me up and assured me they had all done the same at one time (thank you for the kind words). ... my hand felt broken, even tho it wasn't, I skidded up my knee and bruised my ego ... but I looked damn good in my Lilly Patch Capri's, Vineyard Vines Oxford and Stephen Bonanno Sandals. It's all about the fashion. :) -- Vivian

Testimonial
Dear Vivian,
Just a note to thank you and all the SBS staff for the happy, happy pair of Rainbow Palm Beach's!
They are so just fabulous--I am trying to think of some fabulous place for a
"where in the world" photo that would truly show them off.
As always, thank you for your assistance and professionalism!
Fondly,

Vivian,
Just a short note to say how much more I LOVE Stephen Bonanno sandals than the Jack Rogers. I just got back from a week in Austin, TX and as it is so hot, take nothing but sandals. I had 5 pairs and one was a pair of JRs from before I knew of Stephen Bonannos. Let me tell you, if my feet could speak they would be shouting to the world to only wear Stephen Bonannos. I was constanly on the go and one day my feet hurt and that was the only day I wore JR's. Next day I was back in SBS and all was well.
It's only Stephen Bonanno's for me from now on. END. OF. STORY.
All the best,
Lisa M

I'm getting ready to head back up to Florida State for my senior year. I started packing today, left the room for one minute and I come back to see my beloved Maine Coon lounging in my suitcase next to my new FSU Bonannos. Well, at least he has good taste...too bad he won't be able to join me and my SBs in Tallahassee this year!

Testimonial
I have collected quite a few Bonanno sandals, and while I love all of them, I wear the tan and pink ones daily--I live in those shoes. I have owned them since 2005, and the soles had become paper thin and the heels were worn down. I dropped them off for repair, and now I have four old sandals which, I swear, look brand new!
Whether it's new products or repairs that a shopper may want, she will find peerless workmanship at Bonanno's. I once left for repair a pair of Enzo flats that most people would have thrown away. I got them back looking as good as when I left the shoe store.
I'm glad the factory is back in our area. I consider you a local treasure and don't bother to shop for other sandals. I could never be as happy with another brand as I am with my Stephen Bonanno's.
Thank you,
Rita Charnock

Hello Vivian, I was so excited to go on your website today and see a picture of my Murphy on your photos. I must have sent you the picture a while ago. I feel bad that you can barely see the sandals even though I LOVE that picture. I thought I would send you a better shot of the sandals and of course Murphy is in that one too. It was taken in Asheville, NC.
Love my Bonanno's every day....
Take care.

Dear Vivian:
I purchased my lovely Bonanno's at THE BACK PORCH in North Palm Beach, where I live, during a fundraising event for THE NICKLAUS CHILDREN FOUNDATION.
Vacationing now in Marco Island, where my feet are thanking me with every step I take.
Although my mother taught me not to put my feet on the table, it was hard to see my yummy sandals and the sunset at the same time!

SIT. STAY. BAD GIRL.
Aside from the worry of our precious pooch getting lost or hit by a car, are you ever curious what kind of adventure your dog gets into when he/she escapes?
Well, Rippy, our crazy Scottish Terrier went missing for 2 hours!
She returned on her own and when I saw her I had the biggest smile on my face, not so much because she was home safe, but because to see her, you could tell she was so happy with herself. What ever she had gotten into, she had a blast!
The bottom half of her body and sides of her head was covered with thick mud, her belly and under her short little legs were matted in leaves and more stickers and her face was covered in thin black stickers. She was a mess. ... Oh, and she stunk to high heavens.
PS
She had an equally long bath which she hated every minute of. Karma's a bitch.

Our first boutique employee
Stuart’s ex-Playmate launches luxury swimwear line
by Staci Sturrock
Twenty-five-year-old Kelly Carrington has gone from playing volleyball and lacrosse at Martin County High School, to posing for Playboy (she was the October 2008 Playmate of the Month), to launching a luxury swimwear line.
Kelly is putting what she learned on the beaches of Stuart, on the shop floor at Stephen Bonanno Sandals and at the University of Florida as a public relations major to use as co-founder and creative director of Eclairee (French for “enlightened”). In a way, the House of Hefner even had a hand in guiding her toward a career in fashion.
Now a New York City resident, Kelly recently answered a few questions about Eclairee — which updates classic silhouettes with of-the-moment touches like color blocking, geometric seams and mesh inserts — via email.
Malled!: How did your experience with Playboy shape your current career path?
Kelly Carrington: ”I posed for Playboy once when I was 21. It was a quick, adventurous decision, and I did not realize how it would impact my future. … Essentially, (it) forced me to realize there was a much grander plan for my life and my journey into self-discovery and enlightenment began which led me to my true passion — creativity, design and fashion.”
Malled!: When you’re in South Florida, how do you spend your time?
Kelly Carrington: “I always make time for an afternoon in downtown Stuart and time on the boat. The Breakers and Mar-a-Lago are my two favorite hotels to kick back and relax. I recently experienced Mar-a-Lago on New Year’s Eve and was taken aback by its beauty and authentic Palm Beach style. The gold ballroom took my breath away— simply magical!”
Malled!: Favorite restaurants in the area?
Kelly: Jetty’s and Guanabanas in Jupiter, and Sailor’s Return in Stuart. “All three are waterfront and perfect sunset spots.”
Malled!: How did working at Stephen Bonanno Sandals influence you?
Kelly: “It was my first real job and glimpse into the world of retail and manufacturing. I think my time at SBS has had the biggest influence on my work ethic, attention to detail, importance of quality control and overall understanding of customer service. Everything I absorbed was instilled by Vivian Bonanno-Benvenuto, who was very disciplined, a true perfectionist and very hands-on with customer relations. We built a powerful trust that pushed me to exceed her expectations.”
Malled!: You look great in a bikini. What about the rest of us?
Kelly: “Looking and feeling amazing in a swimsuit is about confidence, and confidence arises from feeling comfortable. In my collection, it was very important to me to design beachwear accessories, sarongs and modern swim skirts, that give women that extra bit of confidence we all desire. Éclairée invites women to get up from their chairs and walk around confidently in their beachwear.”

They were the perfect accessory for our June Santa Fe, NM wedding...
I was so happy to slip off my "church shoes" and slip into these for the reception, once they were officially my new initials! I wore them the whole honeymoon, too...
Thanks for everything!

WPB Factory
I love what they are doing!
Domenick and I stopped by to see the progress of the WPB factory ... oh my gosh, it's great!
It has a warm and welcoming feeling. Laid out so when you pull up or walk by you can see the cobblers making sandals. I love it!
... and of course everyone is so friendly you just want to hang and have your morning coffee there. ;)
The retail boutique is cute too. OK, so maybe it has something to do with my adorable Preppy Hound dog collars and ball caps displayed in the showroom among his beautiful sandals and handbags. wink. wink. So much color!
... and the discount bins. Have you seen them? These are sandals that have small imperfections that Stephen will not sell at full price. He puts them in the bins at 50% OFF! Can you believe it?!
Everyday the bins are picked through, so there's really no way to know what each day will bring, but if you're feeling lucky you just may find the perfect pair at a discount.
The best part of my experience at the W. Palm Beach Factory ... Stephen is on site to welcome is customers and to accommodate their needs. They were thrilled to see him again and I can see he is back where he belongs ... in the thick of things, interacting with his customers directly, doing repairs and making sandals.
DID YOU KNOW?
Stephen is 4th generation cobbler and an expert with shoe/sandal/boot, handbag and luggage repair. He can do some pretty amazing things with his hands.
When you're in the area, which is just a hop, skip and a jump from the town of Palm Beach, City Place and the Kravis Center. You owe it to yourself to experience Stephen Bonanno, the factory in West Palm Beach just off Okeechobee Blvd.

The inspiration ... a simple drawing.
It was all MY idea ... :)
Preppy Hound.com was inspired by a simple drawing my husband Domenick doodled many years ago. I held onto it because I loved it, and knew one day I would find use for it.

The brand took on a life of its own ...
2011, after encouragement from my cousin's Melanie and Robin who said, "hey, what about dog collars?", I set out to do just that ... design my own dog collars,
but along the way I discovered it wasn't as easy as I thought ... so I got my brother and sandal designer Stephen Bonanno involved. He helped me create the patterns, figure out the measurements and find the right suppliers (basically, he did all the hard work).

Our Scottish Terrier, Rippy was my perfect patient model thru the whole process. Allowing me to use her to make sure my collars fit, held up and were comfortable.
